Verizon Business has released its 2009 Data Breach Investigations Report.
Executive Summary: 74% of breaches were from external sources, 32% implicated business partners, 64% resulted from hacking, 38% utilised malware, and 69% were discovered by a third party. The 90 confirmed breaches within their 2008 caseload encompass an astounding 285 million compromised records.
